A good man, a good father and grandfather, and a good friend. I'll miss seeing his infectious smile! I can't ever remember a time when John didn't have a smile on his face! Back when he and Fred were farming together he'd always get a good laugh at Fred's expense when someone would ask about his father and it always got Fred a little wound up that people thought he was John's dad! They were quite a pair and they both sure brightened a lot of days for me over the years. Rest in peace fella's.

I feel very fortunate to have grown up in the same neighborhood as the Hammond family and years could go by and when I would see John & Betty its as if no time had passed. I love you all and know John will be greatly missed.

A DISH GARDEN WITH FRESH FLOWERS was ordered on November 13, 2016

Message from Joe Bell

Met John and Betty when they stayed with us in Wyoming, and John gave Bonnie to Tom in marriage. Phyllis and I felt we had known them forever. John had the personality that you could sit and talk with even on the first visit. Upon returning home they gifted us the most beautiful oil lamp we had ever seen. Phyllis would often adjust the chimney as she walked past though it never really needed it. .It sits near my chair as I write this. I remember John and Betty and her every time I look at it. God bless you all and give you comfort.
