Please accept my condolences for your loss. I remember Lester very well from the 50's. He worked with my father, Dutch Monje. He was always kind and acknowledged me whenever we met for years after my Dad died. I do have a unique memory. I was only 5 or 6 at the time. My father, Al Hartnagle and Lester were putting in a set of brick steps with wrought iron railings on the side of our house on North Main Street. It started raining, and I was watching from the storm door as they were finishing up and a bolt of lightning struck one of the railings that Lester was standing near. He fell back into the big pine tree behind him. I was amazed everyone got up and walked away unhurt, but all seemed very concerned. God Bless Lester, another American hero... gone from a small town, and with a big heart.
