Palmyra - Wesley M. Hares, 69, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Please join the family at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. Burial will be in Fairville Cemetery.

Wes was born on April 20, 1955, in Auburn, NY, as the son of Donald and Dorothy (Hathaway) Hares. He was a nature enthusiast who loved outdoor activities such as camping, canoeing, fishing, hunting, gardening, and hiking. Wes retired from his long-time employment at G.W. Lisk Corporation in Clifton Springs.

Wes will be remembered by his children, Marcia (Chris) Krauth and Donald Hares; grandchildren, Brad (Emily Distaffen) Walker and Alicia (Ryan Bartlett) Walker; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Oliver Bartlett; sister, Donna (Jim) Christensen; brothers, Gerry (Lori) Hares, Ronald Hares, Dewayne Hares, Randy (Shelley) Hares and Dale (Kim) Hares; and a sister-in-law, Karen Hares; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Wes was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Hares in 2013; father, Donald Hares in 2015; brothers Daniel Hares in 2012; and Kevin Hares in 2015.
