Wallace "Wally" Ingraham
Newark - Wallace Ingraham, 78, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, after a brief illness.
Wally Ingraham, born on April 4, 1946, in Buffalo, NY, was the son of the late Robert and Audrey (McNabb) Ingraham. Growing up in the area, he attended Palmyra Macedon High School and graduated with the class of 1965. Throughout his high school years, Wally was an excellent athlete, excelling in football, baseball, and basketball.
Following graduation, Wally enlisted in the Navy and served from 1965 to 1969. during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he dedicated thirty-four years of his life to the Newark State School, serving as a caregiver until his retirement.
Outside of work, Wally's passion for sports extended to coaching his own children. He could often be found at the Canandaigua dirt track, where he worked as a technician, indulging in his love for history by watching war movies.
Despite his busy schedule, Wally still managed to contribute to his community. He worked for NAPA in Macedon, was a volunteer for the Newark Ambulance, and served at the East Palmyra Fire Department.
Wally will be remembered by his wife of twenty-eight years, Cathy; his children, Robert (Christina) Ingraham, Wally Ingraham, Melissa Thran and Brian Thran; grandchildren Dylan, Taylor, Travis, Zayden, and Levi; siblings Nancy Truitt, Gloria (Dennis) Frey; several nieces and nephews.
Wallace was predeceased by his brother-in-law, John Truitt.
In honor of Wally's wishes all services will remain private.
