Tonia M. Kuperus
Tonia M. Kuperus (Feenstra), age 78, of Stanley, NY, went to be with the Lord on November 1st, 2024, after a long battle with breast cancer.
Toni was a resilient individual who faced each challenge with strength, humor and grace. She was born in Nijlan, Friesland, and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1956. She is predeceased by her parents, Clarence & Helen Feenstra, her brother Nick Feenstra and her twin brother Henry Feenstra.
Toni is survived by, and will be loved and greatly missed by, her husband of 56 years, Henry G. Kuperus, her children Wendy (Todd) Voogt-Howard, Amy (Andy) Robertaccio, and Scott (Rachel) Kuperus, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Toni worked part-time at various jobs throughout her life, but her main job was raising her children in the Lord and caring for her family. Known as Mimi to her grandchildren, Toni was an avid crocheter, having crocheted blankets for all of her children, grandchildren and yet-to-be-born great-grandchildren. By way of support, she also donated crocheted blankets to the Crisis Pregnancy Center and East Palmyra Christian School auction over the years. Toni strongly supported Christian education both financially and through various volunteer roles. She was active in her church over the course of her life as a Sunday school teacher, Daily Vacation Bible School teacher, Calvinette leader, choir member, and church bulletin secretary. One of Toni's favorite pastimes was reading; she enjoyed reading a wide variety of types and genres of books and novels.
Family and friends may show their support during calling hours, Monday, November 11th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at East Palmyra Christian Reformed Church (EPCRC), 2057 E. Palmyra-Port Gibson Rd., Palmyra, NY 14522. All are welcome to stay for the funeral service following calling hours beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment and a brief burial service will immediately follow at the East Palmyra Cemetery after which all are welcome to join the family for a luncheon at the EPCRC to reminisce and celebrate Toni's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (give.bcrf.org) in Toni's name would be very much appreciated.
