Stewart B. Ovens
Newark - Stewart Brian Ovens, 62, completed his final lap and made his way into the Victory Lane in the sky on November 3rd, 2021.
Friends and family will be welcome to come to honor Stu’s memory at his celebration of life at a date and time to be announced.
Stewart was born on May 5th, 1959, in Penn Yan, NY. He was the son of the late Georgia Alice Switzer. He drove a truck for many years and was the proud owner of Creekside Entertainment, which he ran alongside his sons, daughter, and wife. Stewart was known by friends, family, and strangers alike as being the life of the party, the person you could always call on in a time of need, and for his legendary “Stu-isms.” He was a gentle soul who loved everyone around him and was not afraid to show his emotions in the form of tears, a tight hug, or a karaoke serenade. He will be remembered and missed by countless friends, family members, brides and grooms from weddings, fellow competitors at RC tracks and iRacing, camping buddies, drivers and staff at DIRT tracks, and the endless amounts of other people he touched so profoundly.
Stewart is survived by his wife, Marjorie Ovens; sons Steven (Keegan) and Brad Ovens; daughters Kaleigh (Sam) Zulauf, Adrienne Tokarz and Melissa (Tom) Castro; brother, Stanley Ovens; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren, including his brand new grandson, Kole.
He was predeceased by his mother, Georgia; brother, Steven, and sister-in-law, Cindy.
