Newark - Sheila Ann (Woods) Derr passed away on January 5, 2023, with her loving family by her side.
In honor of Sheila's wishes all services will remain private.

Sheila was born June 2, 1934, in Chester, England. She met and married her American husband, John Derr, who was stationed in England during the Korean Conflict.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband, John; her son, Steven; and her brother-in-law, Donald Viola.
She is survived by her four daughters Anne (Keith) Knapp of Newark, Mary (Chas) Tatigian of Naples FL, Christine Krebbeks and Edward Wilk of Newark, and Kim (Jedd) Hetherley of Macedon. She also survived by her ten grandchildren Nathan, Sara, Ethan, Benjamin, Chas, Annie, Shaw, Hillary, Liam and Chloe; and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Viola. She will be remembered fondly by coworkers and patients at Newark Wayne Hospital, where she worked for over twenty years.
Sheila loved spending time with family and friends and to help care for them, especially in their time of need. She enjoyed music, especially her favorite band, The Beatles. Sheila was proud of her homeland of Chester, England and her adopted country of America. She was a devoted, lifelong Catholic and parishioner of St. Michael Church in Newark.
