Sodus/Newark - Sandra J Quance, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

Please join the family at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at East Palmyra Cemetery, Whitbeck Road, Newark, NY for Sandra's graveside service. A memorial service will be at Grace Baptist Church, 3040 Walworth Road, Marion NY 14505 on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11 a.m.

Sandra, born to the late Herman and Virginia (Thayer) Wahl on February 13, 1940, in Sodus, NY, she was raised in the area and graduated from Sodus High School in 1958. She dedicated over three decades to serving local doctors in an administrative capacity before retiring. In her retirement, she sought activities to stay engaged and found fulfillment working in the cafeteria at Kelley School, where she remained until the age of eighty. Sandra took pleasure in tending to her gardens and cherished the company of her dog, cats, and birds.

Sandra will be remembered by her daughter, Michele (Vance) Backus; her son, Matthew (Wendy) Quance; grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Rich, Rachel, Nate, Hannah, Amanda and Emilee; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Sandra was predeceased by her first husband, Leon; her second husband, Raymond; a daughter, Melanie; and her sister, Barbara Bastian.
