Ruth Jones, 93, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Geneva, New York, on her birthday. She was born on May 13, 1933, in Onslow, Nova Scotia, Canada, and moved to New York in 1952, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, and love.

Ruth was the beloved widow of Robert Jones and a devoted mother to her three children: Kim Boise (Lee) Peter Dodson (Reenie), and Keltie Dodson. She was a proud grandmother to Tim Boise, Ashleigh Holdford, Kevin Boise, Adam Dodson, and Alex Dodson, and a loving great-grandmother to Lillian Boise, Michael Boise, Makenna Holdford, Benjamin Holdford, Kaeden Boise, Kinsey Boise, Max Dodson and Beckham Dodson.

Ruth had a warmth and spirit that made her unforgettable. She loved fashion and decorating, and anyone who knew her would tell you she was always "dressed to the nines." Whether she was heading to Wegmans, Dollar General, or the Post Office, Ruth was beautifully put together from head to toe. She loved walking through the malls in her stylish stiletto heels well into her 90s, only trading them in for flats at the age of 92. She also enjoyed taking daily walks through her neighborhood until she was no longer physically able.

She had a special spark about her - full of spunk, conversation, and stories. Ruth had an incredible memory for names, faces, and details from years gone by, and she genuinely enjoyed connecting with people.

Ruth was also known for her baking. Her family especially treasured her homemade desserts, and her son absolutely loved her apple pies. She never arrived at a gathering empty-handed and delighted in sharing baked treats with family, friends, and neighbors alike.

Above all, Ruth will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the pride she took in her family, and the joy she found in everyday moments. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

The family will hold a small private graveside service.
