Roger E. Deisering
Webster/Newark - Roger Edmond Deisering passed away peacefully at home at the age of 88, surrounded by his family on the evening of February 12, 2022.
Roger was born on August 9, 1933, in Sodus, NY and raised in Marion on his family farm. Roger and his beloved Dawn were married in May 1955, and after two years in the Army they settled in Newark, NY where they lived until 2020. Roger worked for Hallagans Manufacturing Co. for over 40 years, upon retirement, he and Dawn joined The Reynolds Auction Company where they worked side by side for nearly two decades. Roger was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael Church, where he and Dawn were both active parishioners. His hobbies included woodworking, tending his vegetable garden, and walks with his faithful canine companion, Buffy. He also loved to travel with his family, spending many summer vacations in Cape Cod and winter trips in Florida, along with larger adventures to the Virgin Islands, Ireland, Scotland, and Alaska. Roger and Dawn relocated to Webster in the fall of 2020 to be closer to family.
Roger is survived by his wife of 66 years Dawn (Lannon) and daughter, Kimberley (Peter) Good of Penfield; grandchildren Emily (Mark) Pettit of Webster, Logan (Bethany) Good of Pittsford, and Courtney Good of Penfield; great-grandchildren Lily and James Pettit; and his sister, Shirley Stanton of Lititz, PA; sister-in-law, Gail (Lannon) Lunay of Indianapolis, IN; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Kenneth.
No prior calling hours, a celebration of life will be held on March 5, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church in Newark, NY. This to be followed immediately with a luncheon at the American Legion, where the family will receive family and friends. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be directed to: St. Michael’s Church, Lollypop Farm, or the Wayne County Humane Society.
