Ralph Ruffalo Obituary

Ralph "Bud" Ruffalo

Newark - Ralph "Bud" Ruffalo, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025.

Bud was born the son of the late Frank and Anna (Iocco) Ruffalo on Monday, April 10, 1933, in Newark, NY. He spent his life in the area graduating from Newark High School with the Class of 1953 and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, where he was a radio communications operator.

After returning home, he worked for Ruffalo Trucking before he and his brother started Ruffalo Appliance Repair, where he worked part-time. Bud spent most of his career as a shipping clerk for Sybron Corporation, a medical equipment manufacturer, where he remained for twenty-five years before retiring at age 62. Never one to stay idle, he later joined Mitch at Ruffalo Appliance, assisting with deliveries and repairs, and continued working there until the age of 81.

He loved visiting with friends at various coffee clubs and enjoyed socializing. A lifelong New York Yankees fan and avid fisherman, he and Halene spent thirteen wonderful years traveling to Indian Rocks, Florida, where he passed many happy hours fishing and enjoying time with family.

Bud will be remembered by his wife of sixty-nine years, Halene; his children, Allan (Roxanne) Ruffalo, Mitch (Debbie) Ruffalo, and Candice Ruffalo; his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Pa," Katie (Brandon) Coons, Albert (Kathryn) Hollis, Marina (Carlos) Fillmann, and Joseph (Kaitlyn) Ruffalo; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Collette Coons, and Logan and Lincoln Hollis; his sister-in-law, Priscilla Wolfe; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bud was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Francis "Skip" (Mary Jane) Ruffalo.

Please join Bud's family for a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Michael Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, NY 14513. Immediately following the Mass, a reception will be held at the church. Burial will be private in East Newark Cemetery.
