Phillip Raymond DePauw

Phillip R. DePauw, 73, of Newark, NY, passed away on April 14, 2026, at Rochester General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on March 3, 1953, at Newark-Wayne Hospital, the son of the late Raymond C. and Mary Elizabeth DePauw.

Phillip graduated from Newark High School and went on to work in a variety of roles throughout his life. He worked in the family produce business as both a salesman and truck driver, later as a handyman at 12 Oaks Resort in Sanford, Florida, and held several other positions alongside his good friend, Ron Jayne.

A talented musician, Phil enjoyed marching with three local bands alongside his father and brothers, Richard and Ray Lee.

Phillip was predeceased by his parents, Raymond C. and Mary Elizabeth DePauw; his sister, Gloria Paddock; his brother, Ray Lee; and three adopted brothers from Newark State School: Red, Mike, and Al.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Justin of Rochester, NY; his brothers and sisters, Richard (Dorothy) of Tampa, Florida, Deborah of Sanford, Florida, and Gordon of Newark, NY; along with extended family and friends.
