Peter John Decker

NEWARK - Peter J. Decker, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Monday November 22, 2021.

Friends and family are invited to a burial service at 11 am on Friday, December 10th at East Newark Cemetery, Vienna Street, Newark, NY

Peter was born in Newark, NY on January 4th, 1943 and spent most of his life in the area. He was a graduate of Newark High School, Class of 1962. He was an avid basketball player, attending Indiana State University on a full basketball scholarship. Peter graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, and devoted over 30 years of his life to the Robert Bosch Corporation as an automotive sales rep. He truly loved his career. As a father to two boys, he enjoyed watching and coaching his sons in sports. He enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his immediate and extended families. He was always the life of the party.

Peter is survived by his two sons Christopher (Kelly), and Eric (Jennifer); his sister, Kay (Angel) Fernandez; grandchildren Jocelyn, Annabelle, Grayden, Trace, Josi, Everett; as well as several nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Tracy Serens.

Peter is predeceased by his parents Peter and Elsie Decker; and his sister Edna Mae Briggs.
