Nora "Becki" Rebecca Ortiz

Newark - Nora Rebecca Ortiz, 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Nora "Becki" was born the daughter of the late Cesar Ortiz and Ada (Camacho) Padilla on Sunday, August 30, 1959, in Newark, NY. She spent her life in the area and graduated from Newark High School with the Class of 1978. She continued her education with Bytant & Stratton where she studied Secretarial Sciences. Becki worked various jobs for New York State before ultimately serving as a receptionist with Wayne County Mental Health, for thirty years of service. In addition to these roles she had also worked for Fays, Wayne Drugs, IEC, and FLACRA. In her retirement she volunteered and became a Foster Grandparent at Perkins School for a number of years. The relationships and friendships she garnered through life she held very near and dear. Often reflecting on the impact such had on her; memories and stories she shared with reverence and respect. She enjoyed shopping, attending live music events, traveling, and watching old movies. Most of all she was an ULTIMATE Buffalo Bills fan "GO BILLS"!!! Becki especially loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and enjoyed all things Disney. Many of her life enjoyments were shared with her better half Mark Stamer.

Becki will be lovingly remembered by her life partner, Mark Stamer; her children, Eric Ortiz, Travis Williams, Crystal Williams, and Miranda (Justin "Gino") Brooks-Ruggeri; her grandchildren, Jalen Williams, Janel Williams, Jacqueline Smith, Jaston Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Jonavon Brooks, Jiovanni Brooks, and Javante Brooks; her great-grandchildren, Jupiter and Violet; her siblings, Whitney (Gerard Couturier) Ortiz, Juan (Patricia) Ortiz, Olga (Charles) Richmond Jr., Cesar Ortiz, and Angelique (Chris) Ortiz-Kane; step-father Anselmo Padilla and step-mother Elena (Raspaldo) Ortiz; as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Nora was predeceased by a sister, Holly Padilla.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 West Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513. Becki's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main Street, Newark, NY 14513.
