Nathan D Derr Sr.
Lyons - Nathan "Nate" D. Derr Sr. died suddenly as a result of an accident on November 10, 2025, at age 47.
Nate was born the son of Steven E. Derr and Rebecca Rowe-Derr-Powers on January 6, 1978, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital. He attended Newark High School with the Class of 1996, later completing his education by earning his GED. As a teenager, Nate enjoyed art, skateboarding, and ice hockey, spending countless hours honing his skills.
He loved fishing and spending time with family and friends, but nothing brought him more joy than his children and grandson-he would light up like a Christmas tree whenever they were near.
Nate was predeceased by his loving father, Steven E. Derr; both his grandmother's Roxanna Rowe, and Sheila Derr; his grandfather, John Derr.
Nate is survived by his daughter, Taylor Behlau-Derr; his son, Nathan D. Derr Jr.; and a daughter, Mariah Cruz; his mother and stepfather, Rebecca and Lee Powers; his sister, Sara Derr; his brother, Ethan (Jessica) Derr, and their children, Rachael, Daniel, and Dominic; and his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Rowe.
He is also survived by his aunts Sue Rowe (Steve Mitchell), Marla (Jack) Barton, Patti Morris, Anne (Keith) Knapp, Mary (Chas) Tatigian, Christine Krebbeks, and Kim (Jedd) Hetherley; his uncles Mark (Cindy) Rowe, Ken (Andi) Rowe, Paul (Laura) Rowe, and Matt Rowe; his grandson, Louie James O'Leary; his paternal great-aunt, Betty Viola; and many cousins and second cousins.
