Port Gibson - Melody A Langdon, 64, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Friends will be welcomed by the family from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1000 Main Street, Newark, NY. Following the visitation, there will be a celebration of Melody's life at the church. A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Riverview Cemetery, situated on County Road 25, Clifton Springs, NY 14432.

Melody, born on Wednesday, September 9, 1959, to the late Rodney W. and Bonnie (VanNorman) Smith in Canandaigua, NY. She spent her life in the area, and graduated from Midlakes High School as part of the class of 1979. With a natural flair for socializing, Melody found fulfillment in her role as a customer service representative, where she excelled. Cooking brought her joy, particularly when preparing meals for her mother-in-law. Melody enjoyed her cats and indulging in dark chocolate. However, her greatest passion was undoubtedly her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Melody also dedicated her time to serving as a member of the Ladies Aid at the Macedon Fire Department in the past.

Melody will be remembered by her husband, David Hammond; her step-son, Zachary Hammond; siblings Beverly (Edward) Hough; Clarence (Gloria) Smith and Luis (Tammy) Riveria; and many nieces and nephews.

Melody was predeceased by her sister, Thelma Marie Smith.
