MaryKay Jones

Newark - MaryKay DeLuca Jones, 67, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

MaryKay fought a courageous battle with lung and lymph node cancer, a brain aneurysm, a new hip, and, in the end, liver cancer.

The family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. Please join the family at Craft 120 following visitation for MaryKay's celebration of life.

MaryKay was born the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Sperrazza) DeLuca on Wednesday, November 2, 1955, in Newark, NY. She graduated from Newark High School class of 1974. Mary attended FLCC and earned her associate's degree in Human Services. Mary worked for the ARC of Wayne for twenty-six years and enjoyed helping people. She enjoyed music, singing, gardening, and exercise when able. Mary loved spending time with her family and the love of her life, Tom; they have been married for forty years and together for forty-two years.

MaryKay will be remembered by her loving husband, Thomas Jones; her children Nicole Baylard, Shawn (Kendall) Jones and Stephanie Stack; eleven grandchildren Daniel, Kayla, Kevin, Shania, Gavin, Addison, Makenna, Brianna, Caleb, Chloe and Jordyn; a brother, Joseph (Cheryl) DeLuca; a sister, Jenn Gibson; her best friend and cousin, Linda (Michael) Snowney; many nieces and nephews.

MaryKay was predeceased by a brother, Robert Williams; her parents Joseph (Clara) DeLuca; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas (Roselene) Jones; many uncles, aunts and cousins who she was always close with.
