Mary Ann Pritchett Obituary

Obituary Mother Mary Ann Pritchett

Mother Mary Ann Pritchett went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
She was born on December 20, 1949, in Georgiana, Alabama to Mary T. Coleman and Willie Adams. She was the fifth oldest child of 15 children. Mother Pritchett had to work to help care for her siblings by picking cotton and was only able to complete fourth grade. Until her death she was still loving and caring for others.
Mother Pritchett relocated to Florida in 1965 at the age of 14. In 1970 Sister Pritchett along with her three children relocated to Wayne County, NY. In 1972 she gave birth to her fourth child.
In 1974 Mother Pritchett started working at Newark DDSO and would later transition to Newark Central School District.
Mother Pritchett received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in 1980. In 1982, during an outpouring of the Holy Spirit while crying out "My Bible, My Bible," the Lord worked a miracle. Mother Pritchett began reading her Bible and has been growing in her reading abilities ever since. It was her personal relationship with the Lord that sustained her in the tragic death of her oldest son Eathon Hall in 2006.
In 2010 Mother Pritchett joined St. Paul's Full Gospel Baptist Church, Geneva, NY, under the tutelage of Bishop John S. Dixon. She was a faithful member; dearly loved by her Pastor and the members of St. Paul's. She was known for her motherly kindness, prayerfulness, a great sense of humor and her famous fried cabbage and collard greens at St. Paul's fellowship dinners. Her perseverance and commitment were highly commendable. Through tough times, she remained steadfast in her faith and walk with God; even praying for and encouraging others along the way. She served as President of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, a Mother on the Mother's Board, a Deaconess on the Deaconess Ministry, and a member of the Pastor's Aide, Evangelistic Outreach and Women's Ministry.
Her favorite scripture was 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
She believed and modeled the importance of loving and supporting your family. She impacted lives wherever she went and displayed the love of God through her smile, compassionate heart, and helping anyone in need.
In 2015, Mother Pritchett retired from Newark Central School District. She was often stopped in Wal-Mart and community events by former students who still called her Mrs. Pritchett. Even in her workplace she was not ashamed to let her light of Christ shine bright that others would see and give glory to God. In 2011, while being employed at Newark Middle School, she was such an inspiration to others, that the 2011 school yearbook was dedicated to her. Some of the accolades
contributed to Mother Pritchett by the staff of Newark Middle School were...
Her warm smile, her uplifting spirit and her positive attitude are the first things we encounter when we come to our school." "She is a wonderful gift and a positive role model to every single one of us." "She has always played a role in her life where she has taken care of others and now, she is the caretaker of Newark Middle School." "If we all are just even half the person Mrs. Pritchett is, Newark and the world around us will be a brighter, more colorful, wonderful place in which to live."
Mother Mary Ann leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband of 37 years, Deacon Davis Pritchett; One daughter, Jacqueline Thomas; Two sons James Yon, and Anthony Hall; Three brothers Arthur Coleman (Cecille Coleman), Harvey Coleman (Peggy Coleman), and Willie Coleman (Jona Coleman); Four sisters Bernice Almstead, Alice Coleman, Lorene Gamble (Earl Gamble), and Jessie Coleman; One Brother in-law, Johnny Pritchett (Dorothy Pritchett); Special Grandchildren, Aleseo Douglas,( Dangia McKinney), Elashia Hall (Kerry Hacket), and Shavonne Crocker (Stewart Crocker); grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
