Gates - Marjorie E. Christ, 99, entered peacefully into her Savior's arms on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

Marjorie will be remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann (Alan) Bentz; her cherished grandson, Daniel Bentz; several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, William F. Christ in 2003; daughter, Amy Christ in 1969; sisters Marian Hartzler and Eloise McDowell; brother, Kenneth McDowell; sister-in-law, Norma McDowell; brother-in-law, Fred Hartzler.

Marjorie was born the daughter of the late Leslie and Olive (Persons) McDowell on September 7, 1921, in Rochester, NY. Marjorie spent her life in the Rochester area, and worked for Levis Music Shop and the YMCA in her younger years. She enjoyed serving at church, playing piano for the Children's Department. She was very creative, often sewing, sketching, and playing piano. Most of all, she loved time spent with family.

Please join the family at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (July 6) at City Hope Church (formerly Gates Wesleyan Church), 2070 Long Pond Rd., Rochester, NY 14606 for Marjorie's funeral service. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery, Spencerport, NY.
