Rochester - Leonardo Lopez Malave, 66, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his home.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc. 124 West Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513.

Leonardo was born the son of the late Ramiro Lopez and Maria Mercedes Malave on Thursday, April 18, 1957, in Salinas, Puerto Rico. Leonardo, known as Naldo or Leo to his friends and family, was kind-hearted. He always tried to make sure that those around him were happy. Naldo was a giving man even when he had little to give. Naldo loved cooking, dancing and cars. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and loved his island, Puerto Rico. All his friends and family will miss him. We will always treasure the memories of our time with him.

Naldo will be remembered by his daughters Myrnalis Lopez, Mirelis Lopez and Marelis (Kurtis) Qualls; his grandchildren Adriana Maria DeVaney, Isabella Rose Qualls, Lyla Grace Qualls, Jamian Jason Cruz, Aries Rebel Guilliams; his five brothers and seven sisters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Naldo was predeceased by his brother, Israel.
