Newark - Judith Ann Jansen, 75, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at DeMay Living Center.

There will be a private burial for the family at their convenience at Fairville Cemetery.

Judith was born in Newark, NY on July 12, 1948, to the late Jacob and Agatha Jansen. Judith graduated from Newark High School, then went on to get her bachelor's in teaching at Brockport College. She taught second grade at Williamson Central School for 33 years; and was also a K-4 science coordinator and union secretary for many of those years. Judith stayed very active in the teacher alliances and was a member of the Wayne County Teachers Association and member of Delta Kappa Gama.

Judith also loved her church family and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newark. She served as lay leader, taught a weekly Bible Study class, and was secretary to the United Methodist Church Women's group, as well as Spiritual Growth Officer for the Finger Lakes District for many years. She remained secretary for the Church Council for 14 years.

Judith will be remembered by his sister, Sharon (Richard) Steiner; nephews, Jeffrey (Dena) Steiner, Gregory (Susan) Steiner; great-nephews, Conner and Andrew Steiner; great-nieces, Cara, Emily, Molly, Melanie Steiner; along with many cousins.
