Newark - Joy L. Horton, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Living Center at Geneva North.

In honor of Joy's wishes, all services will be private.

Joy was born the daughter of the late Levi and Lois (Hold) Goff on Monday, August 13, 1934, in Buffalo, NY. Joy raised three boys in the Newark area. She loved to cook and celebrate the holidays with her family. Joy enjoyed gardening, animals, and living in the country.

Joy will be remembered by her sons Lee (Peggy) Thurston and Randy (Patrice) Thurston; daughter-in-law, Susan Thurston; step-children Thomas Horton, Jr. and Cheryl (Tom) Castle; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.

Joy was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Horton; and her son, George Thurston.
