Newark - Hildegard O Young, 101, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at DeMay Living Center.

Hildegard's services will be at a date and time to be announced.

Hildegard was born the daughter of the late Killian and Olga (Zimmerman) Zimmerman on Wednesday, June 1, 1921, in Germany. She grew up in Germany, where she attended school, then moved to the Rochester area with her children. She loved crocheting, baking, and tending to her large garden. Her favorite things were her grapevine, pear, apple, fig, currant trees, and rhubarb. She made her own jams with all the fruit she grew.

Hildegard will be remembered by her son, Conrad (Susan) Skorc; a daughter, Betty Hughes; grandchildren Brian (Cheryl), Dawn (Dallas), Chuck (Carrie), Alan (Julie), Adam (Larmie) and Lucus (Jessica); several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hildegard was predeceased by her husband, Robert and daughter, Herta Freling.
