Gladys A. (Frye) Gaston

Newark - Gladys Alberta (Frye) Gaston, 83, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Rochester General Hospital.

Family will greet friends Wednesday (July 18) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Funeral Service will be Thursday (July 19) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairville Cemetery.

Gladys was born the daughter of the late George and Melissa (Rowe) Frye on Tuesday, April 9,1935, in Marion Center, PA.  After graduating from high school, she moved to the Newark - Arcadia area. Gladys worked for Wayne County Department of Social Services. She was a country girl, loving the outdoors, yard work and camping. Gladys enjoyed taking pictures, particularly of wild animals with her trail cam and she loved wild flowers. For many years, she had ducks, dogs, cats, and for a period of about ten years, she raised chickens. Gladys, for many years, assisted her husband with NYS Hunter Safety Classes. She enjoyed walking the canal trails with her daughters. Gladys was a very loving, soft, generous woman who loved her children deeply.

Gladys will be remembered by her son, Dave R Gaston of Naples; daughters, Debra A Gaston of Sodus, Sandra L. Gaston-Cooney of Newark and Shirley M Gaston of Inlet, NY; grandson, Chad Gaston; granddaughter, Shannon (Joshua) Richardson; great-granddaughter, Finley Richardson and great-grandson, Dash Richardson; brother, William (Geraldine) Frye; sister, Dorothy Ranochock; many nieces and nephews.

Gladys was predeceased by Husband, Robert J. Gaston (2009); brother, Walter Frye and sister Betty Beatty.
