Frank was born the son of the late Frank and Twyla Backus Sr. on Friday, December 16, 1938, in Waterloo, NY. He graduated from Waterloo Central High School class of 1946. Frank retired from Mobil Chemical in Macedon after years of working in the warehouse. Frank was a great sports fan. He supported the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed horse racing and in his younger years bowling.

Frank will be remembered by his loving wife of 55 years, Marvette (Kramer) Backus; brothers George and David; sisters Patricia, Glenna and Catherine; many nieces and nephews.

Frank was predeceased by a brother Joseph and sister Beverly.
