Newark - Donald J Hanagan passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

Please join the family at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at East Newark Cemetery, Vienna Street, Newark, NY 14513, for Donald's graveside service.

Donald was born the son of the late Clarence and Ruth (Kommer) Hanagan in Palmyra, NY, where he graduated from Pal-Mac High School. Donald owned and operated his own construction business, Hanagan Construction, and built and remodeled homes. When he retired, Donald continued to help customers and family with handyman projects until he was in his seventies. Donald enjoyed bowling, helping his kids with projects, and woodworking; he built toy boxes for all his grandchildren. He and his wife Sylvia were members of Park Presbyterian Church.

Donald will be remembered by his children Betty Kneut, James Hanagan, Terri (Rick) DeHond and Sue (Ron) Henkel; grandchildren Chad (Rachael), Carly, Matthew, Megan (Coty) and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Callen, Raegan and Hadley; brothers, Terry (Pat), and Lowell; sister, Sheila (Bruce); many nieces and nephews.

Donald was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia in 2019; his sisters Helen, Linda, Debbie; brothers, Thomas and Stephen.
