Donald K Chamberlin
Newark - Donald K. Chamberlin, 93, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at De May Living Center.
Please join the family at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Newark Cemetery, North Main Street, Newark, NY 14513, for Donald's graveside service with military honors. The family will announce a celebration of life.

Donald was born the son of the late Harold W. "Pike" and Rose Louise (Schroth) Chamberlin on Tuesday, September 22, 1931, in Newark, NY. Don was a lifelong resident of Newark, where he was born and raised. After graduating from Newark High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving for four years before receiving an honorable discharge in 1955.
Don began his career at Bloomer Brothers and dedicated 38 years to the company through its various transitions. He was married to the love of his life, Hazel, and lovingly cared for her at home after her stroke until her passing in 1975.
Don later pursued his passion for fishing by starting Hi-Line Charters, a fishing charter business, and found joy spending time on the water with his customers.
An avid outdoorsman, Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting trap and skeet. He was a proud lifelong member of the Newark Rod and Gun Club and the Newark American Legion.
Donald will be remembered by his children Peggy (James) VanSchaffel and Michael (Julie) Chamberlin; his grandchildren Matthew Chamberlin, Mark (Gavin Reynolds) Chamberlin, Cally Santino, James (Karin) VanSchaffel and Carl VanSchaffel; great-grandchildren Madison, Colin, Leiana, Eli, Ryker and Lincoln; two brothers William H. (Eydie) Chamberlin and Richard (Stephany) Chamberlin; and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was predeceased by his wife, Hazel; his siblings June (Durwood "Doty") Smith, Jean (Leonard Randow) Randow and Robert Chamberlin.
