Newark - Deloris Santora, 90, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Deloris' graveside will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at East Newark Cemetery, Newark, NY.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1934, Mr. Felix Santora and his wife, Lillian (Lenhard) of New York City, were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Deloris.

Deloris spent much of her youth in Dutchess County, NY. At the age of 10, following the passing of her mother, she was placed in residential care. In the late 1980s, she moved to Monroe County, and later to Wayne County, where she attended a day program in Palmyra. After retiring, Deloris lived in Seneca County for several years. Throughout her life, she developed many lasting friendships with both peers and staff, most especially those at Marshall Road IRA and 106 CT IRA. Newark was always considered "home," and she had only recently returned to her beloved Cobblestones.

Those who knew Deloris remember her as someone who found joy in simple pleasures. She could often be found smiling when surrounded by those dear to her. She loved music of all kinds-especially the "oldies but goodies"-and enjoyed having her hair done and relaxing with a foot massage. Forever a kid at heart, Deloris also cherished her Raggedy Ann doll, which remained her constant companion throughout her life.

Deloris lived a long and full life, and she will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who was well loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Deloris is survived by all her peers and staff at the Finger Lakes DDSO.
