Newark - Debra E. Hammon, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2023, at DeMay Living Center.

Please join the family at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 West Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513 for Debi's memorial service. Private burial will take place in East Palmyra Cemetery.

Debi was born the daughter of the late Harry and Rosemary (Hinkle) Greenwood on Saturday, October 5, 1957, in Wilmington, Delaware. She graduated from Christiana High School in Newark, Delaware, in 1974. Later in life, she pursued a degree in business management, earning her associate's degree from Delaware Technical Institute. Debi worked as an accountant and payroll specialist for several credit unions and non-profit organizations, such as the YWCA, before retiring from Wayne County ARC in 2011. Additionally, she enjoyed playing guitar and singing, possessed a sharp intellect, and enjoyed trivia and film. Debi was also heavily involved in the American Legion, serving as a District President for the Ladies Auxiliary. Debi was honored for her fifty-year affiliation with the Girl Scouts. However, her greatest joys in life were her children and adored grandchild.

Debra will be remembered by her children, William Hammon and Kimberly (Timothy) Casselman; grandchild, Teddy Casselman; siblings Judi (June Collins) Fejes and June (James) Emory; and her nieces and nephews.
