Dawayne Siegwalt Obituary

Dawayne Siegwalt

East Hampstead, NH / Newark - With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Dawayne Siegwalt. Our solace comes with the belief that he left behind his hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s and envision him enjoying Buffalo wings and a Flo’s filet while drinking a margarita.

Dad was a very hard worker throughout his life. He spent his career at the Newark Developmental Center, where he became a supervisor. While working, he was a volunteer firefighter for the Marbletown Fire Department. After he retired, he drove a school bus for the village of Newark. After fully retiring, he enjoyed spending winter months in Englewood, FL. with his wife and visiting his sister. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 65 years, Fay Siegwalt, his most devoted son, Darryl, daughter-in-law Kelly and his most loved grandchildren, Colby (his partner in crime) and Jessie (his “princess”). He had the utmost pride in them, and his eyes lit up whenever they were around. Additionally, he is survived by his brother-in-law, James Hyman (Penny); nephews Dennis Dadson (Janet), Steve Siegwalt (Barb), and Scott Hyman (Gloria); nieces Sherry Hermann (Eric), Julie Hyman (Chris), and Lori Proctor (Ryan); great-nieces and great-nephews; his longtime friend, Barb Farnsworth.

Dawayne is predeceased by his parents Harold and Doris Siegwalt; his sister, Doris Dadson; brother, Marlin Siegwalt; and best friend, Duane Farnsworth; his faithful canine companion, Sandy.

We will hold close all the wonderful memories with him and continue to share his antics to draw the laughter from our hearts.

Per Dawayne’s wishes, a graveside service will be held on June 4, 2022 at East Newark Cemetery, Vienna Road, Newark at 11:30 a.m. Attendants are asked to meet at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, 124 West Miller Street, Newark, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, PO BOX 5014, Hagerstown, MD, 21741-5014 or to the hospice that so wonderfully cared for Dawayne, Home Health Foundation online or mail to 360 Merrimack Street. Bldg. 9, Lawrence MA 01843.
