Conan Branson-Banjo Guard
Newark - Conan Branson-Banjo Guard, 49, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Conan was born on Monday, April 26, 1976, in Clifton Springs, NY, the son of Gordon Guard and Karen Vanderbrook. He was raised in Newark and graduated from Newark High School. Conan went on to attend SUNY Brockport, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Ornithology. A passionate birder, he traveled the world capturing images of birds and landscapes through his photography. Later in life, he returned to school at the University at Buffalo, where he earned a nursing degree and became a registered nurse. Most recently, he began working at Newark Hospital. Conan was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, loved fishing, and faithfully followed the Buffalo Bills.

Conan will be remembered by his mother, Karen Vanderbrook; his father Gordon (Patricia) Guard; his aunts Rita (Jim) Weiler and Julia Vanderbrook; cousins, Chris (Kristin) Jakubczak, Lora (Tim) Abraham, Mike (Karen) Bailey, Kristen (Russell) Madden, Steve (Terri) Bailey, Jon (Sheryl) Bailey.
Conan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Charlotte Vanderbrook; paternal grandparents, Richard and June Guard; aunt, Marcia (Fritz) Bailey;
