Newark - Christopher M. VanCleaf, 49, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. Chris' graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at St. John's Cemetery, Clyde, NY.

Christopher was born the son of the late Jose R. Ortiz and Katherine VanCleaf on Wednesday, November 1, 1972, in Waterloo, NY. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, listening to music, and going to the casino.
   
Christopher will be remembered by his daughters Erika (Hakeem Shorter) Powell, Kierra VanCleaf, Mystique Myrthil, Chrishanda (Darion Jones) VanCleaf, Jade Ruetz, LeeAngel Beebe, Lilliana Barber and Ellie LeClaire; grandchildren Anaiya, Rashaad, Raiden, Ka'Miyah, Sasha, Kyrie; godson, Quinton Kizzie; brother, Michael VanCleaf; sisters, Wanda Burgos and Alicia Munuz; several nieces and nephews.

Christopher was predeceased his wife, Lauren in 2021.
