Calvin was born on Tuesday, November 4, 1947, in Sodus, NY, the son of the late Jessie and Cherrie (DeVall) Taft. He grew up in Wolcott, where he attended Wolcott High School, he proudly joined the Navy in 1964, dedicating thirteen years to serving his country. After his honorable service, Calvin pursued various careers but found his true calling in the construction business, where he excelled and built a reputation for his craftsmanship and integrity.
Calvin was a man of many talents and passions. He loved woodworking, often creating beautiful pieces that reflected his attention to detail and love of the craft. Above all, Calvin cherished spending time with his family and making memories.
Calvin will be remembered by his loving wife of twenty years, Wanda; his children, Shasta (Nick) Kelsey, aand Scott (McKenzie) Verburg; six grandchildren; a brother, Colin; and his sisters Debbie, April, Carol, Brenda, and Marilyn; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Wolcott American Legion Post 881, 10675 Ridge Road, Wolcott, NY 14590. Feel free to share your memories of your experiences with Cal at the ceremony.
