Newark - Betty H. Van Hall, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Betty was born the daughter of the late Isaac and Marie (Bolt) Havert on Wednesday, June 2, 1937, in Palmyra, New York. She spent her life in the area and graduated from Newark High School with the Class of 1955.

Betty worked as a bookkeeper at Lincoln Rochester Bank. She chose to stay home and raise her family before eventually returning to work at Newark Hospital in the medical records department, where she remained until her retirement in the mid-1990s.

Betty was a lifelong member of the East Palmyra Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed reading, antiquing with her husband, and attending antique auctions. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty-six years, Elmer J. Van Hall; her children, Steven (Pamela) Van Hall, James (Nancy) Van Hall of Michigan, and Yvonne (Timothy) Lead; her grandchildren, Jessica, Nicole (Joshua), Nathaniel, Jacob, Lydia, Caleb, Rebecca (Wesley), and Casey; three great-grandchildren; and her niece and nephew, Leanne (Ben) and Kevin (Shawn).

Betty was predeceased by her brother, Rev. Kenneth (Shirley) Havert;

The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at East Palmyra Christian Reformed Church, 2057 Port Gibson Road, Palmyra, New York. Betty's funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Private burial will be in East Palmyra Cemetery.
