Zuzanna (Kolodynski) Kuczminski

Newark - Zuzanna Kuczminski, 105 entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at DeMay Living Center.

     Family will greet friends Monday (March 6) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday (March 7) at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main St., Newark. Burial will follow in Newark Cemetery, N. Main St.

     In memory of Mrs. Kuczminski, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Michael Church or Martha Ministry at the church.

     Mrs. Kuczminski was born the daughter of the late Mikolaj and Helena Kolodynski in Poland. During the WWII, she and her husband and their two children were held in a Nazi concentration camp. They witness the war at its worst. After the war, they came to the U.S. in 1949, eventually settling in Newark. Mrs. Kuczminski worked for Bond Clothing in Rochester as a seamstress, then Sarah Coventry in the Jewelry Dept. She had a strong faith, love of family, and an appreciation of God’s blessings.

     She attended St. Michael Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She and Jan shared their many blessings by providing delicious Polish cooking for the Polish workers at Salisbury Farms in Phelps. They also worked on many Polish Nights Fund Raiser at St. Michael.

     Mrs. Kuczminski will be lovingly remembered by her children Icnacy (Gloria) Kuczminski of NC; Eva Niemiec of Newark; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

     Mrs. Kuczminski was predeceased by her husband Jan Kuczminski; son-in-law Stanley Niemiec; grandchildren Jason and Christopher; one brother and three sisters.
