Newark/Lyons – Roy Lee Rice, 72 passed away from a life long illness on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.

Fulfilling Roy’s wishes, there will be no services. The family will plan a celebration of his life at their convenience.

Roy was born the son of the late Robert and Ettamae (Trask) Rice on Monday, June 11, 1945, in Newark, NY, was the oldest of 11 children.

Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Roy will be remembered by his children, Kenneth (Kimberly), Kelly (Orlando), Roy Jr. (Danielle), all of Newark, Chrystal (Tim) of East Rochester; granddaughter, Alyssa of Newark; brothers, Roger (Sherry), Dick and Lavern (Debbie) Rice; sisters, Linda Mae Rice (Billy), Mary Jean Rice (Tom), Etta Rice (Harry) and Rose Marie Ace; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Roy was predeceased by his brothers, William in 1992 and Lawrence Sr. in 2015; sister, Joyce in 1980; nephew, Lawrence Jr. in 2013.
