Newark – Richard James Tellier, 79 entered eternal rest

on Monday, February 6, 2017.

     Family will greet friends (NOTE DATE) Friday (Feb. 24) from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Memorial Mass will be Saturday (Feb. 25) at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main St, Newark.

     In memory of Rich, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Newark Volunteer Fire Dept. Deluge Hose Co., 150 E. Miller St, Newark, 14513.

     Rich was born the son of the late Abram and Sarah (Benjamin) Tellier on Sunday, May 9, 1937 in Newark, NY. He spent his whole life in the Newark area, graduating from Newark High School class of 1955. He served our country for eight years in the National Guard. The funeral home proudly flies the National Guard flag in honor of his service. Rich was a member of the Newark Volunteer Fire Dept. – Deluge Hose Co. for 55 years. For many years, Rich was an EMT Instructor and volunteered for multiple volunteer ambulance corp. throughout Wayne County. He was a chartered member of the Newark-Arcadia Volunteer Ambulance. Rich often volunteered at Watkins Glenn at the race track as an EMT. He enjoyed sailing whenever he found time.

     Rich worked for many years at Mobil Chemical in Macedon. After retiring from Mobil Chemical, he drove tractor trailer for entertainment shows across the continental United States including Alaska.

     Rich will be remembered by his children and stepchildren Wendy Caffee, Tracy DiazCruz, April Bueg, Karen (Alex) Carraballo and Darren All; grandchildren Kaitlyn, Samantha, Devina, Deiken, Alex, Gabriel, Lincoln, Spencer and Emily; sister Cecilia (Tellier) Farrell; sister-in-law Donna Tellier; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

     Rich was predeceased by his second wife Bonny Lynn (Kaufman) Tellier; brothers Ronald Tellier and Eugene Tellier; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

     Fulfilling Rich’s wishes his body was donated for medical research.
