Newark - Merle Alice Mohr, 83, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

Family will greet friends at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark from 1 to 4 p.m on Sunday (Dec. 9). All services will be private, burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Merle was born the daughter of the late Alfred N. and Iva E. (Sawyer) Temple on Saturday, November 30, 1935, in Oneida Castle, NY. She spent her time in the Marion then the Newark area, graduating from Marion High School class of 1953. Merle was past president of the Perkins School PTA and a member of the Arcadia Republican Committee. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and above all else, spending time with her grandchildren and family. Mrs. Mohr worked for Wayne Floral before she and her husband started the Growers Plant Co. Following those years she worked for Wayne County at the Nursing Home as an accounts payable clerk, then Building and Grounds Department. After 20 years of service Mrs. Mohr retired in 2005.

Merle will be remembered by her daughter, Sheila (Christopher) Burgess; sons, Conrad "Nick" Mohr III and Alfred (Sharon) Mohr; nine, grandchildren; fourteen, great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Merle was predeceased by her husband, Conrad P Mohr Jr. (6/19/2016); brother, Lee Temple (1974).
