Newark - Melody Anne DeRue, 64 entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the ER of the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

Family will greet friends Sunday, (Dec. 2) from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Graveside Service will take place on Monday (Dec 3) at 1 p.m. in Fairville Cemetery.

Melody was born the daughter of Gordon and Jeanne (Seen) Vane on Wednesday, November 24, 1954 in Rochester, NY. She worked for Wayne ARC in the production area. Melody enjoyed her iPad, coloring, shopping and watching soap operas, but her most enjoyable activity was spending time with family.

Melody will be remembered by her daughter, Angela (Frank) Wright; sons, Peter DeRue and Michael (Angel) DeRue; granddaughter, SkyLynn DeRue; father, Gordon Vane; sister, Yolanda (Merle) Casselmen; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law Edward (Sandra) Vane and Harold Vane; sisters-in-law, Linda DeRue-Niedenfuhr, Suzanna Glerum.

Melody was predeceased by husband, Robert J. DeRue in 2011 and mother Jeanne (Seen) Vane in 1989.
