Mary E. (Fredendall) Hoven

Clyde formerly of Newark – Mary Elizabeth (Fredendall) Hoven, 89 entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Seneca Nursing Home.

      Family will greet friends Sunday (Feb. 12) from 2 to 4 p.m. at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Memorial Service will follow calling at 4 p.m. Burial will take place in St. Frances Cemetery in Phelps on Monday (Feb. 13) 1 p.m. graveside.

     Mary was born the daughter of the late Lloyd and Marian (Cranall) Fredendall on Saturday, November 12, 1927 in Lyons, NY. She was a graduate of Clyde High School class of 1944. Mary was a member of St. Michael Church in Newark and the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed reading, camping, traveling and spending time with family. She helped to prepare luncheons at St. Michael Church for several years. Mary had worked for GE Corp in Clyde and then as secretary for the commissioner for the Department of Social Services.

     She will be lovingly remembered by her son Donald (Linda) Stein; daughters Karen (Ronald) Lauster and Susan (William) Arliss; step- sons Richard Hoven, Bruce (Karen) Hoven and Eric Hoven; step-daughter Mari Elizabeth Cole; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; brother Paul Fredendall; sisters Lela (Robert) Toft, Nola Liseno and Martha Sutliff; sister-in-law Marie Lohman; many nieces and nephews.

     Mary was predeceased by her husband Camiel Hoven in 1984.
