Newark - Martha Ann VanNorman, 70 entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, with her family by her side at Clifton Spring Hospital.
Friends are invited to join the family at the celebration of Martha's life on her 71st birthday, Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Memorial will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in East Palmyra Cemetery.

Martha was born the daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (Thomas) Leddick on Tuesday, May 25, 1948, in Rochester, NY. She worked for Champion Clothing in North Carolina. She also worked for various restaurants as a waitress which she enjoyed very much. Martha also enjoyed crocheting. Above all else she loved being a mother and raising her children. Martha's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Martha will be remembered by her children, Valancy Hall (Earl), Gilbert H. VanNorman III and friend Nikki Britton, Rebecca VanNorman and friend Darwin Ford, Jessica Myers and friend Scott Young, Johnathan (Kathy) Caslin-VanNorman and Kathleen (Ramiro) Zavala; twenty-three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; siblings, Francis (Catherine) Leddick, Alberta (James) Barra, June (Mike) Ridosh and Robert (Donna) Leddick; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Bonnie David.
Martha was predeceased by her husband Gilbert H. VanNorman Jr.; daughter, Athena Chrisman; sisters, Sharon Peek and Katherine Reyome.
