Helen E. (Behrens) Bornheimer

Raleigh, NC formerly of Newark, NY - Helen Elizabeth (Behrens) Bornheimer, 95 entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at her home.

All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery, Monday, August 13, 2018, at 11 a.m.

Helen was born the daughter of the late Fredrick and Katherine (Haag) Behrens on Sunday, June 24, 1923, in Geneva, NY.  She spent her life in the Geneva and Newark area, graduating from Phelps Central School, class of 1942. In 1987 she and her husband Irving Bornheimer retired to Rock Hill, SC and later moved to Raleigh, NC. Helen loved to entertain family, friends, missionaries, and visitors. They were always welcome in her home.

Helen will be remembered by her sons, David (Beverly) Bornheimer of Lyons, Rev. Philip (Cheryl) Bornheimer of Henrietta, and Mark (Patricia) Bornheimer of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Irving A. Bornheimer in 2000; son, Richard Bornheimer who gave his life while serving our country in Viet Nam in 1968; sisters, Elsie Behrens Schiller in 1944, Mildred Behrens in 2013, and Dorothy Behrens VanDyke in 2015.
