Newark – Gerald Robert “Radar” Hardy, 70 entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at his brother’s home in Clyde.
Family will greet friends, Tuesday (June 12) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W Miller St, Newark. Burial will be Saturday (June 16) in Black River Cemetery in Watertown at 1 p.m.

Radar was born the son of the late Edwin G. and Lina (Lacey) Hardy on Wednesday, January 14, 1948, in Lowville, NY. He was a graduate of Watertown High School. Radar had worked for many years at the Red Rooster in Fairville, Sarah Coventry and most recently Palmyra-Macedon Middle School as custodian. Radar loved his family very much and he enjoyed scratch off tickets. He was a collector of many things and he would go camping every chance he had. Radar particularly enjoyed a trip to Maine a few years ago.
Radar will be remembered by his sisters, Carol (Doug) Loomis and Barbara (Phillip) Boardman; brothers, Bruce (Cindy) and Brian Hardy; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Radar was predeceased by his brothers, George, Edwin, Donald, Ronald and Carl Hardy.
