Sodus - Gary Robert Yenei, 63 entered eternal rest on Monday, January 14, 2019, at his home.

Family will greet friends Friday (Jan. 18) at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark from 3 to 6 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held following calling hours at 6 p.m. Burial will be Saturday (Jan. 19) at 12 p.m. in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville, NY.

Gary was born the son of Robert and Margery (Collins) Yenei on Tuesday, August 02, 1955, in Rochester, NY. He grew in the Rochester area and later lived in the Sodus area. Gary worked in construction all his life and loved working with his hands. He loved the great outdoors, hunting, working in his yard, and planting flowers. Gary had a special love for animals and even took in a baby skunk and raised it as his pet. Being around family and friends was an important part of Gary's life, everyone loved and laughed at his many off the cuff comments.

Gary will be remembered by his loving and caring wife, Marlene (Harter) Yenei; grandson, Dominick McDowell; father, Robert Yenei; brother, Roger (Pam) Yenei; sister, Sheri Yenei; several nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by his mother, Margery (Collins) Yenei.
