Lyons, formerly Port Gibson - Elizabeth "Betty" M. Oakleaf, 100 entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
All services will be private. Friends may greet the family at the American Legion, 200 East Union St, Newark at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 for a time of celebration of Mrs. Oakleaf's long and good life.

Mrs. Oakleaf was born the daughter of the late John and Mary (McGuire) Maartense on Saturday, September 8, 1917, in Rochester, NY. She was a graduate of Spencerport High School, class of 1934. She retired from Garlock Corp. in 1997 after 27 years of service. Mrs. Oakleaf was a member of the Port Gibson United Methodist Church and the Port Gibson Volunteer Fire Dept, Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and golfer. Mrs. Oakleaf was a member of the Wayne County Bowling Association and was inducted into the Wayne County Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 1996. She truly enjoyed serving as a Foster Grandparent of Wayne County for many years.
Mrs. Oakleaf will be remembered by her son, Donald (Deborah) Oakleaf; son-in-law, Ernest Boyd; step-daughters, Jane Dox and Barbara (Roger) Bush; grandchildren, Brent (Krysten) Oakleaf, Deborah Feiock, Lori (Robert) Ellsworth, Shawn Oakleaf and Lisa (Mike) DeCook; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren; sisters, Charlotte Weiderhold, Dorothy Bernier and Joyce Browning; many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Oakleaf was predeceased by husband, Leon Oakleaf on March 28,1982; daughter, Carol Boyd; step son, Richard Oakleaf; step grandson Brian Dox.
