Arcadia - Dorene L. VanDemortel, 70 entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home with her family by her side.

Family will greet friends on Sunday (Dec. 16) from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. A Funeral Service will follow calling at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Dorene was born the daughter of the late Lester and Joan (Tellier) Adriaansen on Friday, April 30, 1948, in Clifton Springs, NY. She spent her young life in the Marion area, graduating from Marion High School class of 1966. She then attended Marian Whelen School of Nursing. For 20 years Dorene worked for Fairport Pediatrics followed by home care as a nurse. She attended St. Michael Church in Newark, and as a child, the Second Reformed Church in Marion. Dorene was a very loving and giving person, she enjoyed helping others in their time of need. Dorene loved children, working in her flower garden but above all else, she loved her family.

Dorene will be remembered by her loving and devoted husband, Roger VanDemortel; daughter, Lisa Everdyke-Yehl; step-son, Michael (Christine) VanDemortel; grandchildren, Ryan and Emilee VanDemortel; sister, Elaine Geldof; many nieces and nephews.

Dorene was predeceased by her son, Timothy Everdyke; sisters, Nancy Rice and Karol Baker and her beloved dog, Gunner.
