Phelps - Barbara Ann Schanz, 59 went to the open arms of her Lord and Savior Friday, February 15, 2019.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 11 AM on Saturday (Mar. 2) at Calvary Chapel of the Finger Lakes, 1777 Rochester Rd., Farmington, NY 14425.

Barbara was born the daughter of Harold Shoemaker and Norma (Kaiser) Foreman on Sunday, May 31, 1959, in Rochester, NY. She spent her life in the Clifton Springs area, graduating from Midlakes High School class of 1977. Barb was self employed as a caregiver, caring for many senior adults over the years. She had a great love for her Savior, Jesus Christ her Lord. Because of this love, she enjoyed reading the Bible and sharing the gospel with friends and strangers alike. She also enjoyed spending time with family and especially her grandchildren. Barb looked forward to her 2 mile walk every day.


Barbara will be remembered by her husband of 42 years, Frank J. Schanz; daughter, April (Timothy) Buchholz; son, Aaron (Sarah) Schanz; grandchildren, Elijah Buchholz, Alexis Schanz and Zachary Schanz; father, Harold Shoemaker; brothers, Richard (Gail) Shoemaker, Daniel (Laurel) Shoemaker, Tim (Carol) Shoemaker and George (Helen) Foreman; sisters, Laurie (Bill) Tilson and Susie (Larry) Monte; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Barb was predeceased by her mother Norma (Kaiser) Foreman and step-mother Laura (Bliss) Shoemaker.
