Newark - Dallas Gabbard, 82, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

The family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark. Dallas' burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 6632 NY-96A, Romulus, NY 14541.

Dallas was born on May 28, 1941, in Booneville, KY, the son of Luther and Bertie (Mosley) Gabbard. Growing up in the area, he attended Clyde High School before starting a four-year journey in the Army. Later, he pledged another four years to the Air Force after marrying his wife. Following his military tenure, Dallas devoted over two decades to the Wayne County Highway Department before retiring. A lifelong member of the American Legion, Dallas found joy in country music, sharing his guitar expertise with friends, fishing, camping, and casino bus excursions. Above all, he cherished moments with his grandchildren and took immense pride in his sons, Rich and Ron.

Dallas will be remembered by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Bonnie Lee Gabbard; his sons, Rich (Laurie) Gabbard and Ron (Ines) Gabbard; grandsons Jacob (Nicole), Matt and Andrew; many nieces and nephews.

Dallas was predeceased by his parents Luther and Bertie Gabbard; and his brothers Carl (Patricia) Gabbard, Don (Barb) Gabbard and WIlburn Gabbard.

The family deeply appreciates the care provided by Aaron Manor, Wayne County Nursing Home, and all the dedicated individuals who work there.
