Newark - Edith Entz DeVries, 92, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the DeMay Living Center.
Family will greet friends at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark on Tuesday (Feb. 13) from 4 to 6 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow calling hours at 6 p.m. Burial will be in the spring in East Palmyra Cemetery.

Edith was born the Daughter of the late George and Edith Entz on Thursday, December 3, 1925 in Seneca Castle, NY. She graduated from Lyon High School class of 1942. Mrs. DeVries worked for the New York Telephone Co. as an Operator in Newark in her early years. She met Charles W. DeVries and they were married on June 18, 1946. After bringing up their two sons she went to work at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and later at Newark Fitness Center. She attended Webster Calvary Chapel in Webster, NY. She as a wonderful mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend to all. Mrs. DeVries enjoyed her flowers, playing bridge, craft, entertaining and helping other. However, her biggest joy and love was her husband and sons.
Edith will be remembered by her sons, Terry (Kathleen) DeVries and Tom (Valerie) DeVries; grandchildren, Eric (Mellissa) DeVries; Mark (Vicki) DeVries, Noelle (Jason) Boyer and Nick DeVries; great grandchildren, Nathan, Sam and Olivia; sister, Pearl Fisk of Dublin; many nieces and nephews.
Edith was predeceased by husband, Charles W DeVries; sisters, Myrtle, Sarah, Beatrice and Vivian; brother, John.
