Newark - Carol Linda Shipley, 78 entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

Family and friends may attend a Memorial Service Saturday (Jan 27) at 2 p.m. at the Newark Assembly of God Church, 1088 Hartnagle Road, Newark, 14513. Burial will be in North Rose Cemetery in the Spring.

Carol was born the daughter of the late Carson and Nedra (Armstrong) Seelye on Sunday, December 10, 1939, in Lyons, NY. She spent her life in the North Rose area, graduating from North Rose High School class of 1957. Carol loved her family and was a stay at home mom all her life. She was a past member of Glad Tiding Assembly of God Church in North Rose where she served as Sunday School superintendent. When she moved to Newark she attended the Newark Assembly of God Church. Upon her husband's retirement, they moved to Florida where they spent the following ten years. Carol enjoyed playing cards, reading, watching wrestling and baseball games on television

Carol will be remembered by her daughters, Sonia (Mark) Farnsworth and Lisa (Richard) Pearson; grandsons, Brandon and Jerad Farnsworth; granddaughters, Chelsea Pearson and her fiancé Matthew Miller and Anna Pearson.

Carol was predeceased by husband, Olan Shipley in 2015.
